12 Days of Clarity 2023 – June

Hello crafty friends. This may not seem like an obvious card for New Year’s Eve, but it’s day 6 of my 12 Days of Clarity and I’ve reached the ‘garden bloom butterfly’ stamp from their June Craft Club. I decided to take the layout from Atlantic Hearts, rotating it so it sat along the bottom of the card rather than down the side.

I started with the ‘SHAC peace circular decorative frame’ stencil, lining it along the edge of a square of card and brushing ‘evergreen bough’ and ‘peacock feathers’ Distress Oxides through it. I added the sentiment in black Archival, together with the antennae from the butterfly (you’ll see why in a minute…)

I stamped the butterfly onto a scrap piece of card and coloured it with Pergaliner pencils. I then fussy cut it – which is why I stamped the antennae on the stencilled card as they’re too fiddly to cut out!

I popped a little glue onto the butterfly’s body and attached it to the card, lining it up with the stamped antennae. I added one of the ‘bijou Japanese symbols’ next to it, then mounted the card on a layer of black and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

So that’s my last card for 2023! Thank you for all the lovely comments and encouragement for this little blog – they are so appreciated. I’ll be back again next year!!
