Hello crafty friends. It’s time for a new theme at Alphabet Challenge and Lynda has chosen T for Texture. I’ve picked up another of the Clarity Craft Club stencils (this one is from April) and the colours from Creative Colour Challenges.

I started by attaching the stencil to a small square of card, so that the design just sat along the bottom edge, and then spread Pentart’s Primer Paste through it with a spatula. I carefully lifted the stencil off and washed it in warm water, leaving the paste to dry on the card for about an hour. Once dry, I put the clean stencil back over the paste and sponged ‘blueprint sketch’ and ‘shaded lilac’ Distress Oxides onto it. Once again I needed to leave the ink to dry as the paste is less porous than card, but then I could stamp the sentiment in clear ink and heat emboss it with WOW’s metallic copper powder.

I simply added a mount of copper card and then attached it to a 5×5 card blank that I’d embedded a square frame onto.

Our challenge at Alphabet runs for the next two weeks, until Thursday 11 January, so there’s lots of time to join in. I’ll be back later with the next in my 12 Days of Clarity Craft Club series.

Stunning card. Love how you chose just part of the stencil rather than making it centre in the card xxx

Gorgeous. I have never stenciled on top of paste – I usually add colour to the paste – but this give a lovely soft look and you can vary the colour when doing it – definitely a technique I’m going to try. xx
