The stockings were hung…

Welcome to my crafty blog and a first outing for the second stamp in ClarityCrafts‘ ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ set (all originally drawn by Barbara Gray herself!). I thought of this when I saw the themes at Sparkles Christmas challenge, Global Design Project and Peace on Earth

I started by stamping the image onto one of the small squares of Clarity’s stencil card and shaded the little mouse with grey Polychromos. I restamped the stockings onto some red & gold offcuts of Northern Lights companion paper, fussy cut them and glued them onto the image. I went for contrasting colours for the sticking tops, which was fiddly enough, but the worst bit was the mouse’s little hat ( I definitely needed my stronger glasses for that, together with tweezers to hold the paper as I finished cutting it!)

I added a mount of the red paper, attached the topper at a 6×6 card blank and finished with a few red enamel dots.

This is such a great series of stamps – you can check out the rest of them on Clarity’s website here

  1. That is a cute stamp set and your fussy cutting is amazing. I also like how you added the sentiment so that the stockings appear to by part of the word.

  2. Deb, this is just gorgeous – what a perfect image and sentiment combo – a real keeper! Great piecing for those stockings, too – and all stunning against the black! Thanks so much for playing at Sparkles!

  3. This stamp is awesome! It is fabulous that the sentiment and image are on one stamp. You’ve colored the stockings expertly. Great card! Thanks for joining us at Sparkles Christmas Challenge. I hope to see you in the gallery for December as well. Sue – DT
