pine thanks

Hello crafty friends. A nice and simple one layer card today using the ‘scots pine’ stamp set from ClarityCrafts, inspired by the photo boards at Hand Stamped Sentiments and Inkspirational both of which feature pine cones. I also picked up the ‘thanks’ theme from The Paper Players and Simply Clean & Simple

I started by stamping the larger pine branch from the set onto an A6 card blank (haven’t used many of these recently) with ‘potting soil’ Archival ink, then added the frame stamp on both sides. I used my Staedtler brown & green fineliners to colour the cones & leaves – just green lines along the leaves, but then using Barbara Gray’s tip on the pinecones of colouring the underparts only which gives more of a 3D effect (don’t try this wearing your varifocals…!) I used a couple of brown Pergaliner pencils to shade in the main branch.

To finish, I embossed a frame around the image with a rectangular embedder and added one of the ‘occasions’ sentiments, again with the ‘potting soil’ ink.

Although I’m busy mainly making Christmas cards at the moment, I’m also trying to get some more thank you ones in my stash – obviously hoping for a productive visit from Santa this year!
