P for Peace at Alphabet Challenge

Hello there and welcome to my first post of the day with our new theme at Alphabet Challenge. It’s my turn to host this time – I went with P for Peace, thinking ahead to Christmas. I’ve used another of the ‘feel good words – two way overlay’ stamps from ClarityCrafts and taken my colours inspiration from the ‘monochrome’ theme at Christmas Craft Creations

I started with a fun fold design, scoring down the centre front of a 6×6 card blank and folding it back on itself. I then attached Antarctica designer paper to the front and inside of the card.

I then stamped the ‘peace’ word outline onto white card and added the buildings from the ‘Oh little town of Bethlehem’ stamp set. I sponged ‘chipped sapphire’, ‘evergeen bough’ and ‘peacock feathers’ Distress Oxides onto the infill stamp to colour in the word, before shading the buildings with Pergaliner pencils, blending the tones to match the background paper.

I trimmed the card down. mounted it on a layer of the Antarctica with a narrow one of white and attached it to the card front (making sure to only put glue on the side that I was attaching otherwise it would never have opened again!)

Come on over and join our ‘peace’ theme at Alphabet Challenge! I chose this some months ago, but it feels sadly appropriate now with so many people (whether Jew, Christian or Moslem) praying for the situation in the Middle East.

  1. I don’t think it is inappropriate. If we let the world events interfere with our card making it would be tragic. Love the colours and the design.
