Clarity craft club lookback – butterfly wave stencil

WElcome to my crafty blog and my Sunday delve back into Clarity‘s Craft Club. Today it’s the ‘butterfly wave’ stencil (#93) from February 2022, which I thought would beautifully showcase the colours from Global Design Project. I do love teal shades (as you’d know if you’d ever been to my house!) so am also going to share this with AAA Birthday and with Seize the Birthday for their option of adding a sky.

I attached the stencil to a square of white card that I’d trimmed to fit a 6×6 card blank, then brushed Distress Oxides through the butterflies. I don’t have the exact colour from GDP’s palette, so went with ‘tattered rose’, ‘evergreen bough’ and a blend of ‘lucky clover’ & ‘peacock feathers’ for the darkest shade. I then used the ‘hills and clouds’ set from the ‘build a scene‘ masks set to create the background, with ‘tattered rose’ in the sky and ‘evergreen bough’ for the bushes.

I stamped one of the ‘occasions’ sentiments onto a scrap of white card, edged it with a Sharpie and glued it across the butterflies. To finish, I ran the Sharpie around the card edges and then attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

Thanks for dropping in and I hope your weekend is going well. I’m staying with my sister for a few days so we’re having a lovely time crafting together inbetween trips out!
