dreamy clouds

Welcome to my crafty blog and a look at one of the ‘feel good words’ stamp sets from ClarityCrafts. You won’t be surprised to know that this one is called ‘dream’ (imagine that!) – they come in two sizes and I’ve used the A5 square set today. I’ve got several of these in my stash and don’t use them often enough (but that may be about to change!) I’ve taken the colours from Color Dare using blue as the addition to my black & white, together with black, clean & simple and silhouette from Festive Friday‘s inspo list.

I started with a square of white card to fit on a 6×6 card blank, stamped the word outline in black Archival ink and then covered it with the pre-cut mask that comes with the stamps. I then brushed ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide across the clouds mask to create the sky behind the word, keeping it towards the centre of the card. I could then lift the mask off and add ‘big’ from the stamp set, again using the black Archival ink

I added the bird silhouette twice, then ran a black Sharpie around the card edges, mounted it on a layer of pale blue card and attached it to the 6×6 card blank.

I was so happy with how this turned out, but ought to confess it wasn’t my first attempt… Here’s what happened to the first version when I dropped my ink pad – and I certainly don’t have a big enough butterfly in my stash to cover that up!! 🤣

  1. We have all dropped our ink pads onto our creations at one point or another. You did a great job on the recreation. Seize the Birthday have a cloud theme this time. Maybe you could add it there?
