Hello there. I’m sharing the last of my design team cards for the new quote stamps that ClarityCrafts launched a couple of weeks ago, which I thought would work well with one of the rectangle aperture stencils.

I started by attaching the ‘lilies’ stencil to a piece of card trimmed to fit a 5×7 card blank (using low tack tape) and then brushed ‘carved pumpkin’ & ‘ripe persimmon’ Distress Oxides through it, keeping the darker shade towards the inner part of the pattern. I then used my paper trimmer to cut out the centre panel (my rectangular dies weren’t the right dimension).

I mounted both pieces of card onto coordinating Waimea Falls companion paper and attached the outer frame to a 5×7 card blank. I stamped the sentiment onto the centre panel, together with a flower from the KISS ‘sunshine doodles’ stamp set which I shaded with a Pergaliner pencil. I added a bit of scrap card into the gap on the card front and then attached the central panel over the top.

I don’t usually go for orange shades, but wanted to push myself – it’s always good to try out different colours and I think this one worked! I’m going to share it with the challenges at Stencil Fun (their optional twist is ‘orange’) and Happy Little Stampers.

A great way to challenge yourself – orange is not a colour I use much either – and I love the darker and lighter blending. xx
