poinsettia stencil

Welcome to my crafty blog and another look at the new ‘poinsettia festive rounds’ stamps from ClarityCrafts – this time I’ve paired them up with the ‘poinsettia swirls’ aperture stencil.

I started with a square of card trimmed to fit a 6×6 blank. I offset the stencil onto it and ran it through my embossing machine to give the pattern a little more definition. These are finer stencils than usual, but you can still get a slight embossed pattern with them. I kept the stencil in palce and added the centre piece to keep that area white. I brushed ‘dried marigold’ & ‘carved pumpkin’ Distress Oxides through the stencil, keeping the lighter shade towards the centre, then sponged ‘candied apple’ onto the poinsettias.

I stamped the poinsettia round outline stamp into the centre of the stencilled image using ‘watering can’ Archival ink. I sponged ‘carved pumpkin’ & ‘candied apple’ onto the infill stamp to colour the image.

I mounted the topper on a coordinating piece of Waimea Falls companion paper and attached it to the 6×6 card blank, finishing with the sentiment in black.

Yesterday’s Clarity shows on Create & Craft TV were great, and I was very fortunate to be in the studio to watch from behind the scenes and see just how much work goes into producing them. Now I’m heading over to share this as a contribution to TicTacToe (taking their left-hand diagonal of free, orange & embossing) and Inkspirational for their ‘clean & simple’ theme.

  1. I like how you offset the circle of poinsettias and the black one in the centre looks dimensional. A beautiful card. Thanks for joining our challenge at INKspirational!
