deer & snowflake sky

Hello there! I’m back with a peek at one of the new stencils that Barbara Gray will be demonstrating on Create & Craft TV tomorrow – the snowflakes from the ‘festive rounds’ collection. I’ve paired it with the ‘deerscape’ mask to create a Christmas sky, which reflects the layout at Freshly Made Sketches

I started with the deerscape mask on a 6×6 square of card and brushed ‘hickory smoke’ Distress Oxide through the hill part. I then overlaid the deer mask so that they were stood on the grass and sponged more of the ‘hickory smoke’ through them.

I switched the masks for the opposite parts and covered up the inked image, then laid the snowflake stencil over the top and brushed ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide through it.

I added the sentiment from one of the co-ordinating ‘festive rounds’ stamp sets, ran a black Sharpie around the card edges and attached it to a layer of Rainbow River companion paper. The whole piece then went onto a 7×7 card blank.

Thanks for dropping in. There’s a whole set of these stencils to check out tomorrow, together with coordinating stamps that fit in the centres – don’t miss the show at 3pm.

  1. Wow, this is a gorgeous take on the sketch, Deborah! Not sure whether I love the round snowflake stencil or the line of deers more but I do know they work beautifully together. Thanks for playing along with us at FMS this week.
