Hello there and welcome to the new challenge at As You See It – this time we have a sketch and it gave me another opportunity to showcase the new ‘Away in a Manger’ stamp set released yesterday by ClarityCrafts. I’m also going to share it with the current ‘anything goes’ challenge at The Holly & Ivy
I started with a 6×6 card blank and cut the right hand side off the front, then attached a couple of pieces of Antarctica paper – one to the remainder of the card front and the other to the inside.
I stamped the image of the Holy Family onto a spare piece of Antarctica, added shading with green and blue Pregaliner pencils and then fussy cut it. The paper that I’d used for this card has a light area in the centre, so I cut that as a backing piece, mounted it on a square of white card, brushed a little ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxide across the bottom and attached the fussy cut image. I stamped the star in the corner with the ‘chipped sapphire’ and shaded it with the green and blue Pergaliners.
I then attached the topper to the card front, making sure that I only put glue on the left hand side! I added a word sticker to the panel on the inside of the card, and finished with a few silver gems.
Here’s a shot of the card opened up, so you can better see the layout. And now we’d love to see how you use our sketch – there’s more inspiration from my design team mates over at As You See It and our challenge runs until midnight on Wednesday 4 October
So pretty! Gorgeous designer paper!

Love the way you’ve stamped the central image onto DSP and then embellished it even further with additional colouring. Great effect!

The image stamped over the DSP gives this a particular look and adding the additional colours makes it quite beautiful.

This is stunning, Deborah! That paper is very effective, as is the extra colouring you added on the main image! So beautiful!

Deborah those papers are so dramatic and atmospheric and a lovely way to frame the holy family image. The white borders do a great job of framing the panels too. Lovely!
