apple harvest

Hello crafty friends! Today’s card features another of the linocut stamps from ClarityCrafts, this time the ‘apple orchard’ set. It’s just perfect for autumnal cards, and I’ve incorporated colours from Color Dare (I picked up the two greens, orange and pink), the ‘outdoor’ theme from Global Design Project and the top row of ink blending, birthday & square card from TicTacToe‘s grid.

I started with a scrap of inky card – I blended the two greens (‘mowed lawn’ & ‘peeled paint’ Distress Oxides) and a little grey ‘hickory smoke’ onto the outline stamp using a sponge and then stamped it onto the card. I switched to the background stamp and sponged ‘carved pumpkin’ and ‘picked raspberry’ onto it, blending the two colours in the sky to look like a sunset. I also added a little more grey to highlight the ladder.

I mounted the stamped image onto a co-ordinating piece of companion paper that I’d edged with a black Sharpie and a ruler. The topper then went onto a 6×6 card blank and I finished with a word sticker.

For once, I managed to stamp this freehand rather than using my platform! It was fairly easy to line up the two little birds in the sky & the cottage as reference points on the two images, but I have to confess to feeling rather pleased with myself!
