Hello crafty friends and welcome to the final day of ClarityCrafts 30th birthday weekend celebrations. This afternoon, Barbara is launching a beautiful ‘bijou two-way overlay linocut’ selection of stamps, with some previous and some new designs, all in the smaller ‘bijou’ format. I’ve opted for the ‘daisy’ stamps for this card – it’s such a pretty image. All these designs were created by Barbara herself as linocuts, which have then been transformed into stamp images – just brilliant!

I started with a piece of watercolour card that I’d coloured with left over ink from a previous project. I inked up the image one of the linocut stamps (as opposed to the background infill) using cotton buds, so that I could get the different colours onto the individual parts – I used my stamping platform to do this, so I could stamp each colour in turn. I used ‘rustic wilderness’ for the ground & leaves, ‘broken china for the sky, ‘carved pumpkin’ for the petals & black Vesafine Clair for the flower centres.

Once stamped, I trimmed the card down, edged it with a black Sharpie & mounted it on layer of Rainbow River companion paper that I’d also edged with the Sharpie using a ruler. It then went onto a 6×6 card blank.

The final step was to stamp the sentiment in black.

I love the summery look of this design – and we’re forecast for a return to warm sunny days in the UK this week! I’m going to share this card with a couple of challenges, although I hope I haven’t pushed it a little too far with them! It’s another loose interpretation of the sketch at Atlantic Hearts, together with the colours from Just Us Girls (although there is a little green in here which I hope the team will forgive!) and the ‘watercolour’ theme from Happy Little Stampers (this time also picking up their option of ‘layers’)

What a lovely summer card, Deborah! I like the soft wash of color behind the flowers. Our temps are shooting back up this week too. I’ll take that over snow! Thanks for joining us at Just Us Girls!
