be yourself

Hello there! Today’s card features one of the ‘hats 2 – vintage’ stamp set from ClarityCrafts, which I think is just such an elegant design and is perfect for this card which is going to a friend who’s about to start chemotherapy for breast cancer (hence the pink shades and the turban!) I took the layout from Freshly Made Sketches and teamed it with the pink & lavender from Color Dare; I’m also going to share it with the watercolour challenge at Happy Little Stampers.

I started by making the background, using a large flat paintbrush with ‘shaded lilac’ & ‘kitsch flamingo’ Distress Oxides onto watercolour card. Once it had fully dried, I mounted it on a narrow layer of black card and onto a 5×7 card blank, then added a strip of the black across the front.

Next was to stamp the turbanned lady onto an offcut of white card. I coloured the image with my Pergaliner pencils, using pinks & lavender for her turban, light browns for her hair and a pale pink & grey for her face, then fussy cut the image and attached her to the card front.

I finished with a word sticker and three white enamel hearts.

Thanks for dropping in. I hope my friend likes this card – she’s incredibly positive about her situation, which is always the best place to be!
