I for Icecream at Alphabet Challenge

Welcome to my crafty blog and a new theme over at Alphabet Challenge – this time it’s the letter I and Dawn is looking for our icecream creations. Now you may be wondering what’s going on with this card? Well, I don’t have any icecream themed stamps or dies, so had to get a bit creative with my thinking and instead opted to use the colours from neapolitan flavoured icecream (I do love those layers of chocolate, strawberry & vanilla!) I could also see those colours in the inspiration photo at Time Out, together with the clean lines on my card.

The first step was to cut a pink square of Clarity’s ‘Amazonia’ companion paper to fit a 5×5 card blank. I added a strip of brown from the ‘Northern Lights’ pack and a strip of white scrap card. I then cut a length of the pink paper using one of the ‘doodle scallop frame-it panels’ dies, cut it in half and glued it alongside the two strips. The pattern on this reminded me of the design on icecream cones, as an added bonus!

I finished with one of the ‘bijou ribbon sentiments’ stamps, using ‘potting soil’ Archival ink.

What do you think of my icecream flavoured card? There’s more inspiration from the rest of the Alphabet design team over on the blog and we’d love to see your delicious creations in our gallery!
