Welcome to my crafty blog and a new stamp set that I’ve just treated myself to – the ‘village & harbour’ set from ClarityCrafts. It’s perfect for a few of the current blog challenges: AAA cards, TGIF challenges & Inkspirational

I joined Barbara’s Gray’s ‘Moment of Clarity’ session online last Friday – although she was focusing on the new henna stamps, one of the projects was brayering ink onto a Gelli plate. Never one to waste anything, Barb was busy cleaning the ink off her brayer onto small pieces of stencil card to then use as backgrounds, so that’s what I’ve done too! I took one of my brayered pieces, and then used part of the ‘by the sea’ reusable masks from the ‘build a scene’ set with a blending brush to create the water effect at the bottom of my card.

I stamped one of the boats into place, then cut a mask for it and stamped the second one to sit behind it, before adding the seagull. I used a couple of grey polychromo pencils to add shading to the boats and the gull,

It still needed a little more, so I popped a circle mask into place and brushed ink (without reloading my stencil brush) across it to give the effect of the sun, then stamped the sentiment across it. I finished by running a black Sharpie around the card edges and then attached it to a 5×5 card blank.

A nice relaxing scene, with the boats ready for wherever the next adventure takes them. I’m not sure there are many harbours around the UK looking quite this calm at the moment as it’s the first week of the school holidays!

Gorgeous scene! I’m in love with the water effect you’ve blended out to create the depth in your scene! Such an inviting boat to be on too! 😉

Yes, it’s been rainy and windy here for the school hols! But your stamped card looks the perfect holiday destination and I really like how you’ve used stencils to create the scene. Thanks for joing in at Inkspirational.
