birdhouse garden

Hello crafty friends! I’m back in my happy place today, with a bit of blending & stamping on this card using one of my all-time favourite stamp sets – ClarityCrafts’ ‘birdhouse garden’. I decided to work with the colours from Color Hues and the layout from Atlantic Hearts (the team there are always very forgiving when I take a rather loose interpretation of their designs!)

I started with one of the landscape masks from Clarity’s ‘build a scene’ set and created the ground area on a piece of card cut to fit a 5×7 card blank, using ‘peeled paint’ Distress Ink and one of Clarity’s stencil brushes. I then switched to the ‘clouds’ mask and brushed ‘milled lavender’ Distress Ink across it to create the sky on the top third of the card.

I inked up the birdhouse stamp with ‘peeled paint’ and ‘seedless preserves’, using a sponge to distribute the two inks across the stamp, and then stamped it into place. I added the little cat in black ink and the bush to the left with the ‘peeled paint’.

I added a couple of birds (obviously coming in to land on the birdhouse, despite the watchful kitty), together with one of the ‘Occasions’ sentiment and finished by running a black Sharpie around the card edges & attaching it to a 5×7 card blank.

Thanks for dropping in. I hope you like this little kitty as much as I do – can’t you just sense the concentration in that pose?
