As You See It colours challenge

Welcome to my second post today and another card with the brand new ‘Japanese flowers and butterflies’ stamps from ClarityCrafts, this ime using the ‘peace’ set.

These are such beautiful designs and ideal for my favourite CAS (clean and simple) style. We’ve got a new challenge at As You See It and this time it’s a beautiful colour palette, which works perfectly with the butterfly round stamp. I’m also sharing this card as a second offering at Simply CAS cards (it’s also got the red & blue from their optional theme) and with TicTacToe, picking up the left hand diagonal of embossing, square & insect.

I took a 6×6 kraft card blank to pick up the ‘crumb cake’ from AYSI’s colours and first created a circular frame using one of Clarity’s embedders. I then stamped the butterfly round in the centre with clear ink and heat embossed it using WOW’s bright white superfine powder, adding the peace sentiment from the set just below the circle. I picked out the butterfly and flowers with Pergaliner pencils, adding grey to the leaves with one of my Polychromo pencils. These all work beautifully on kraft card as you can see!

And that’s all there was to it! I love the detailing on these stamps, which the embossing really highlights.

So how are you inspired with our new colours at As You See It? There’s more ideas from my team-mates over at the blog – well worth checking out, and then come on over and play! Our challenge runs for just under two weeks until midnight on Wednesday 26th July.

  1. Oh my gosh, Deborah, this is so stunning! Color-on-kraft is one of my favorite techniques – it completely shines here! And I love the gorgeous and simple design – that embossed circle is amazing!

  2. I love your commitment to square designs, Deborah! You can really get a different perspective with that layout. This Peace set is a good example! And the pencil colouring on kraft gives such a beautiful look as well. It really does give off a serene vibe!
