funky birthday

Hello there. I’m back with a fun and vibrant card today, using ‘Cherry’s funky happy birthday’ stamp set from ClarityCrafts which has been the WIGIG (When It’s Gone, It’s Gone!) offer at 60% off for the past week, ending at midnight tonight, so you’ve just got time to grab a last minute bargain! I picked up the colours from Global Design Project and will also pop it in as a last minute entry for Seize the Birthday

I started by stamping the words onto white card, then watercoloured the pattern on the letters with ‘twisted citron’ Distress Oxide and fussy cut them. I blended the ‘twisted citron’ onto a square of white card, adding a little detail with the ‘dotty wave’stencil, then stamped the balloons (making sure the strings would sit behind the words) and coloured them with yellow and green Pergaliner pencils.

I glued the words onto the stencilled card, ran a black Sharpie round the edges and attached it to a 6×6 card blank.

The final step was to add some of the little hearts using ‘spun sugar’ Distress Oxide, and then highlight the balloons and pattern on the words with some glitter glue (which is always a nighmare to photograph!)

These letters are great for kids’ cards – pop over to the Clarity website and grab yourself a last minute bargain before they’re gone!
