garden butterfly

Welcome to my crafty blog and an airing for some new stamps in my stash. This gorgeous butterfly stamp arrived recently from ClarityCrafts as part of my June Craft Club goodies, and ‘TIna’s floral swirl’ were a recent design of the week so I decided to invest in them! The beautiful palette from Color Throwdown was ideal for this and I’m just scraping in before the deadline for Freshly Made Sketches with a second offering. Obviously the theme at AAA birthday was a no-brainer for this stamp too!

I started by stamping the butterfly onto a square of white card. I cut a mask for it from an all-over sticky note, covered it up and stamped the floral swirl to sit behind it.

Then it was out with the Pergaliner pencils to shade in the images. Once coloured, I used polychromo grey pencils to add drop shadows around the butterfly, flowers and leaves.

I stamped one of the ‘occasions sentiments’ below the butterfly before adding the lovely phrase that came as part of the Craft Club set. After running a black Sharpie round the card edges, I attached it to a 6×6 card blank and it was finished.

Thanks for dropping in. I hope you had a good weekend and managed to catch the Clarity shows on Create & Craft TV over the last few days – so much fab inspiration!
