Clarity Craft Club lookback – leafy stag die

Hello crafty friends. Well, after a little detour over Christmas I’m back into my regular Sunday dip into back issues of Clarity’s Craft Club. Today it’s the ‘leafy stag’ die from October 2020.

I started with the background and brayered ‘broken china’ & ‘chipped sapphire’ Distress Oxides onto the large ‘dots and spots’ grunge background stamp, then planted it onto a piece of Clarity’s stencil card.

I’d cleaned my brayer by running it over another piece of stencil card, so used that for the ‘treescape’ aperture die. The colour wasn’t really deep enough to stand out against the background, so I blended a little more of both inks onto the diecut. I rotated it so the colours were opposite to the background (which I’d trimmed down) and stuck the two pieces together. For once, I’d remembered to put a layer of ‘Stick It’ adhesive on the back of the card before diecutting it, which made life a lot easier! The topper then went onto a 6×6 card blank.

I cut the leafy stag in white card, trimmed him out of the frame and attached to the card front.

One of Clarity’s word stickers finished it off perfectly.

The good news is that Craft Club back issues are available on Clarity‘s website. Meanwhile, I’m heading over to Just Us Girls to share this card, as I used their colour palette.
