C is for Cars

Hello there! It’s time for a new letter at the Alphabet Challenge – we’re now on to C and Dawn has chosen ‘cars’ for the theme.

I went back to the retired ‘Coming Home’ set from Stampin’ Up! – I love the little car in the set that looks like a VW Beetle. I started by repeat stamping the car over a square of card using ‘Watering can’ Archival ink, then attached it to a pale blue layer and onto a 5×5 kraft card blank.

I stamped the car again onto a scrap piece of card – I used ‘slate’ Adirondack ink this time as I wanted to colour it in with my Promarkers (as they’re alcohol ink pens, they will make an alcohol based ink like Archival belled). I blended two light blue Promarkers on the car, die cut it and then added it to the card front on a foam pad. I finished by stamping one of the sentiments from the ‘quite curvy’ set – I wanted it to sit straight, not on a curve, which yu can do wiht clear stamps. I used my stamping platform, so I could move the stamp round into a straight line, then stamped it onto the pale blue card. Once you take the stamp off your platform, it will relax back into it’s orginal shape.

So do come and share your cars with us at the Alphabet Challenge – we’re looking forward to seeing what you create. I’m now off to share this one at Color Hues, as I’ve used their palette. I thought it was ideal for a masculine card.

  1. Super masculine card Deborah and I Iove the way you’ve popped up the coloured one. All those VW Bugs remind me of many weekend returns to college in my friends Beetle, often bailing out if it was particularly wet!
Thanks for sharing with us at Color Hues. 🙂
