the happy couple

Hello crafty friends. I’m back with another wedding card today, this time using Claritystamp’s ‘the happy couple’ die. I’ve stepped it up a bit, thanks to the inspiration list from Festive Friday – I’ve picked up birds, trees, green and blue on the card.

I started with a couple of pieces of Clarity’s designer paper – a piece from the ‘Shenandoah’ pack for the tree die cut and a second one from ‘Antarctica’ as a background for the sky.

I cut a square of the ‘Shenandoah’, backed it with a piece of ‘Stick It’ adhesive and then cut ‘the happy couple’ die into it. I cut a slightly smaller square from the ‘Antarctica’ sheet and then used Clarity’s hills mask to blend ‘rustic wilderness’ Distress Oxide across the bottom to give a landscape. I then stuck the die cut square on top of it.

I attached the whole piece to a 6×6 card blank and stamped the sentiment along the lower edge in ‘rustic wilderness’. I wanted the two little birds to stand out a bit more, so ran a couple of little pieces from the ‘Antarctica’ back through the die, trimmed them off and glued them over the green ones.

Thanks for dropping in. I love this image – the brilliant Barbara Gray originally designed it for her wedding invitations, so it has an excellent pedigree!

  1. This makes such a lovely wedding or anniversary card Deborah and of course those papers add so much interest to your design. Thanks for playing along with our current Festive Friday challenge too!
