Hello crafty friends. Welcome to another of my creations, which uses stamps and dies from Julie Hickey designs – ‘all about the boys’ stamps set designed by the brilliant Hazel Eaton, with the ‘happy’ and circle frames dies. I picked up a couple of inspiration challenges for this one – As You See It has given us a recipe to use, which I teamed with brown, circles and texture from Festive Friday‘s inspo list.

I started with Stampin’ Up!’s ‘pinewood planks’ embossing folder and dragged ‘pumice stone’ Distress Oxide across it before running a square of white card through it. That piece then went onto a 6×6 card blank once dry.

I then stamped the large circle from ‘all about the boys’ in ‘pebble shore’ Archival ink and cut it out using Julie’s circle frames dies. I picked out the circles and stars with ‘antique linen’ and ‘walnut stain’ Distress Oxides, adding the ‘pumice stone’ into the background. I popped it onto the card front using foam pads.

I blended the ‘walnut stain’ onto a piece of white card with a brush, and then die cut ‘happy’ from it, using another piece of white to die cut the mount. I glued them together and attached to the card front with more foam pads.

I finished by adding a small bow (I had a piece of ribbon in my box in just the right shade!) and a few Glossies from Julie’s new ‘earthtones’ set.

Thanks for dropping in. I was expecting to finish this post by saying the I wouldn’t be sharing any cards for a couple of days as I was heading away to visit one of the charities I work with, but that’s just been cancelled as a colleague has Covid. Looks like I’ll have to stay at home and craft instead!
Absolutely delightful card! Imagine the possibilities with different colors and sentiments! Love it!

This is such a unique card Deborah! I love the way you incorporated the pattern into the circle and your neutrals look great against that inked textured background. The diecut sentiment and enamel dots add a lovely pop of colour to the finished card. Gorgeous! A great use of the As You See It recipe and thanks for playing along with us over at Festive Friday for our Cookie Day Challenge too!

Really beautiful, Deborah! Pinewood Planks is one of my all-time favourited SU products and I love to see it used. The circle frames look amazing and yours is a fitting backdrop for that bold ‘happy’. Thanks for playing along with us at As You See It Challenge.
