blossom birthday

Welcome to my crafty blog and another floral birthday card! This time I’ve gone back to Stampin’ Up!’s ‘blossoms in bloom’ set, as I thought it would work really well for several current blog challenges. The Paper Players have given us ‘birthday’ as this week’s theme and AAA cards‘s challenge is for designs that cover just one corner of the card. I also added in the colour scheme from Just Us Girls – I love these shades.

I started by stamping the large flowers from the ‘blossoms in bloom’ set across the corner of a 5×6 card blank, using ‘salvaged patina’ Distress Oxide. I added the flower centres in ‘mustard seed’ and the leaves in ‘mowed lawn’.

I then cut the co-ordinating floral die in white card and trimmed off the small flowers and leaves with scissors to just leave the large flowers. I attached it over the stamped flowers to give them a bit more definition, and then added several small flowers using the ‘mustard seed’.

I finished by stamping the sentiment in the ‘salvaged patina’ onto a die cut banner and popped that across the front of the flowers.

I’d forgotten just how pretty this stamp set is – I clearly need to use it more often.
