Hello friends and welcome to my crafty blog. Today’s card features one of my favourite fruits – I do love a summertime bowl of English strawberries (and they’re also a ‘free’ food on the Slimming World programme!), so I knew immediately what I would use when I saw the latest theme over at Time Out challenges! I’ve teamed it with the sketch from Just Add Ink and the centre row from TicTacToe‘s grid – die cut, sentiment, metallic.
I started by embossing the top part of a piece of white card with Stampin’ Up!’s ‘subtles’ folder, then added a piece of the patterned paper from the berries DSP across the bottom. A strip of narrow yellow gingham ribbon to hide the join and the whole piece then went onto a 5×7 card blank.
I then stamped and punched out three strawberries and flowers from SU’s ‘sweet strawberry’ set and added then to the card front with foam pads. I’m hoping the team at TicTacToe will treat these as diecuts!
To finish, I stamped one of Julie Hickey’s sentiments onto a diecut banner and heat embossed it with WOW’s ‘metallic gold’ powder. That tucked nicely into the strawberries, with a few yellow Glossies as the final touch.
Thanks for dropping in. It’s set to be another glorious (but very hot) day here again, and I’m off to have lunch with friends out in Essex. You can be sure that I’ll be having strawberries if they’re on the menu!
