Welcome to my crafty blog and a card that is again virtually all die cutting with only a little bit of stamping. I do love Julie Hickey’s Alphabet letter dies, but have never used them before as the central focus of a card. I thought they would work well, though, for the current sketch over at Fab Friday with the colours from TGIF challenges

I started by taking three offcuts of white card (I’ve got a large bag full of them!) and used a blending brush to add Distress Oxides to them – ‘shaded lilac’, ‘picked raspberry’ and ‘mowed lawn’. Once the ink was dry I die cut each word in a single colour, and then glued them onto a piece of white card that I’d trimmed to fit a 5×7 card blank.

I wanted to make ‘your’ a bit longer, to balance out the three lines, so stamped the smallest of Julie Hickey’s ‘layering flutterbies’ onto the leftover pink card and die cut it out. I popped it at the end of the word and added a couple of white Glossies to the body. To finish, I just scattered a few more pink and lilac Glossies around the words, and that was it.

I’m really pleased with how this has turned out – definitely one to make more of!
Absolutely love this card – such pretty colours that go so well together. Beautiful 🙂
