Welcome to my crafty blog, and another pansy! I do really like the ‘pansy patch’ set from Stampin’ Up! – the versatility with being able to create flowers by stamping and just with die cuts is so useful. Unusually for me today’s card has got very little stamping on it, apart from the sentiment and I decided to make the die cut pansy the focus.
I was inspired by the current Fusion card challenge – I’ve taken the sketch for my layout, together with the colour scheme in the inspiration photo
I started with a square of white card, which I embossed with the SU ‘pinewood planks’ folder. I then added a strip of orange card across the top of it and attached then to a 5×7 card blank before stamping the sentiment onto the orange card.
I die cut all the pansy pieces using white, peach and orange card (this is a great way to use up scraps!), and added a little ‘dried marigold’ ink to the centre of the white piece with a sponge before gluing all the pieces together.
I cut a couple of leaves from white card, and attached them and the pansy onto the orange strip using foam pads.
I do like the orange and white colour combination on this – it looks very fresh. See you tomorrow.
Ooo yes, very nice indeed. And huge potential for changing the colour from orange to pretty-much anything! I’d love to see it in pink, mauve or bright yellow (or combinations thereof).
