Hello again! Ist of January and here I am already with a second post, this time sharing our new challenge board at Christmas (or not) BINGO. There’s changes here too, as my bloggy friend Leslie has also stepped back from hosting this challenge too, but thankfully Becca has stepped into the breach. Our boards have been updated for the new year too – you still choose one column and include at least three of the prompts on your card, but now we’ve added in various occasions as well. So here’s our January board to inspire you…

I’ve gone with column I for my card, taking square, layers & stamped images. I turned to the ‘linocut A4 sampler‘ stamp set from ClarityCrafts, together with the ‘block print‘ nested frame dies which I haven’t used very much at all but which work really well with the linocut style.

The linocut stamps can be used as an overlay with the solid block one, which is exactly what I did, starting with ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Oxide for the background, then adding the flowers in ‘carved pumpkin’.

I took a 5×5 card blank and used a small square embedder to emboss a frame on the front before attaching a piece of Waimea Falls companion paper that I’d cut with the middle one of the ‘block print’ dies.

I used a nested square die to cut down the stamped topper and glued it onto the card front, finishing with a word sticker.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m off to spend the day with my sons – cinema trip and lunch out!
